Early Years Hub

There are only 20 hubs in the country (supported by NCTL via TSAs) and their aim is to:

Provide practitioner-led networks

Peer support and challenge

CPD opportunities

Research.

Developing children`s Speech & Language through parent engagement:  This is taking place in North West  Ipswich, we are  working  with PVI (playgroups, early years settings including the Private & Voluntary sector). We currently have £10000 funding to assist with this particular focus area, but we are looking to extend this with funding from the Community Fund (part of the Raising the Bar programme). With this in mind, we would be interested to hear from schools or nursery classes in schools/Early Years settings  who are interested in applying for further funding and are committed to developing parent/pupil partnership.

Early Years Self Improvement to establish focus on vulnerable groups

We have  recently expressed an interest, been successful to the next stage and are now in the process of applying for Early Year Self Improvement funding. We will initially jointly lead 4 geographically based hubs at outstanding infant schools/nurseries, in high deprivation localities across Suffolk to ensure coverage and proximity to settings with high numbers of funded 2 year olds. Hubs will co-ordinate the SPOTLIGHT PROGRAMME of joint practice development at post NVQ 3 level in the PRIME areas plus maths, using the model we have established In NW Ipswich with our speech and language programme.

With this in mind,  we are looking for mini hubs in geographical areas who would like to take part:

1 in Lowestoft

1 additional in Ipswich

1 in Haverhill /Brandon/Thetford

1 in Bury St Edmunds/

Support from Specialist Leaders in Education

We would love to extend support to schools via SLEs, we currently have two SLEs who may be able to assist by supporting your setting. Please see the List of SLEs for details.

If you or your colleagues are experts and wish to support schools beyond your own setting, then please contact us further as to How to become an SLE.

Norfolk & Suffolk Maths Hub

Highfield Nursery Sschool  is working with Norfolk & Suffolk Maths Hub by running a programme of Parental Engagement Programme supporting vulnerable groups (2-3yr olds) to develop maths skills through the Approximate Number System. This is linked to research evidence from Kingston University.
