Specialist Leaders in Education

Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE)

SLEs are a new designation acknowledging the important role of middle and senior leaders in supporting their peers.  They are excellent professionals in leadership positions below the headteacher, with the capacity, capability and commitment to work beyond their own school

SLEs are outstanding in a particular area, for example: a subject specialism; inclusion; ITT mentoring; performance management; behaviour; school business management.

There are currently 13 SLEs designated and brokered by the Farlingaye and Kesgrave Teaching School Alliance, coming from a wide variety of different schools and contexts across the Eastern region.

Current charges for SLE deployment are negotiable and on many occasions may be grant funded.
